It is the dream of the entrepreneur to be able to take their family on a vacation while their business is operating without them and making money on its own. Imagine sitting on a beach and not having to worry about what is happening back home.
The reality is when your business is starting out, it is very difficult to take vacation. It takes a lot of planning and faith in your team to have someone else helm the ship.
Many people have really unique and creative ideas for a product. They go full steam ahead and spend a ton of time to develop maybe an app, create a service program or spend money to manufacture a product only to realize that people are not buying it. They end up wasting their time and hopefully not too much money.
On every journey we go on – whether it’s a vacation or the path to be a successful entrepreneur – there is no perfect road map and there will always be things that get in our way that we did not expect. Whether you are not getting results from a marketing campaign, or you are trying to deal with a difficult client, there will always be speed bumps, construction zones and many detours.
My husband and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary last week. Someone commented on my anniversary post that “How you do anything is how you do everything” and said I was an inspiration. In fact, a few more people also said the same thing.
